Adarga, a leader in AI-driven information intelligence, has been awarded a contract by Defence Support, part of the UK’s Strategic Command, to enhance the speed and quality of military intelligence analysis. The deal will see Adarga’s Vantage software deployed to assist analysts in assessing threats to UK military operations across the globe.
The Vantage platform utilises advanced AI technology to support Defence Support analysts in navigating the fast-paced information environment. Its search, discovery, and generative AI capabilities allow for more efficient data processing, enabling military decision-makers to make more informed choices based on comprehensive intelligence outputs.
The new system has already been praised for its capacity to streamline workflows, significantly reducing the time it takes to process complex data. Analysts can now interpret large volumes of curated information, automatically collated, contextualised, and connected by the platform. Vantage also supports translation from over 75 languages, allowing for wider access to global intelligence sources.
Adarga‘s Senior Vice President for the Public Sector, Charlie Maconochie, emphasised the importance of the partnership. “Driving efficiency and boosting productivity is undoubtedly a key priority for defence, and human-machine teaming is a fundamental driver of this. We are delighted to hear that Defence Support is not only saving significant amounts of time through the use of Vantage, but also scaling their research efforts more effectively and producing better results by focusing on higher-level analysis.”
One of the standout features of the platform is its ability to broaden the scope of intelligence gathering. Defence Support has reported improved access to global information, with insights that would typically be difficult to obtain. This has enriched their knowledge base and introduced diverse perspectives, crucial for understanding the wide range of challenges that the UK military faces in today’s information-rich environment.
Vantage’s built-in Question and Answer (Q&A) function has also been highlighted as a powerful tool in this collaboration. This feature allows users to generate natural language responses to complex queries, offering quick answers to questions about specific outputs and reports generated by the platform. Powered by Adarga’s large language model, the system is designed with robust safeguards to ensure accuracy and safety. Crucially, it provides citations and links back to original sources, giving analysts confidence in the information they are using.
Maconochie added, “Our software provides a powerful means to uncover insights that may otherwise have been missed. Vantage allows users to interrogate and contextualise both proprietary and publicly available data in one secure environment. This is a vital capability for our armed forces, and we are proud to be supporting the Defence Support team in generating well-informed and nuanced analyses for more strategic, evidence-based decision-making.”
By augmenting rather than replacing human intelligence, Adarga’s AI-driven platform is being used to improve the efficiency and depth of military intelligence operations, providing vital support to UK defence efforts in a rapidly changing global landscape.
The partnership with Defence Support is seen as a significant step forward in integrating AI into the UK’s military operations, allowing for more strategic and effective decision-making at all levels.
