Unity Enterprise (UE), a not-for-profit subsidiary of Leeds-based BME housing association Unity Homes and Enterprise, is marking its 25th anniversary by recruiting for a new key position. The role of Assistant Manager will play a vital part in the organisation’s continued growth as it manages a diverse portfolio of business centres in the heart of Leeds.
Since its inception in 2000, Unity Enterprise has provided affordable business units for over 80 diverse businesses, helping them thrive in a range of industries. Currently, UE manages 142 business units, which collectively employ over 1,200 people across three business centres in Chapeltown. The company is now looking to expand its team further to support its continued success and expansion.
The Assistant Manager will assist in the day-to-day management of UE’s thriving business centres, including the recently redeveloped Leeds Media Centre. This £1.8 million redevelopment, carried out in partnership with Leeds City Council and the European Regional Development Fund, has created 12 new business units and a bespoke enterprise hub, including a newly opened podcast studio. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in helping to organise events, engage with potential clients, and contribute to the continued growth of UE’s business initiatives.
Adrian Green, UE Manager, said: “This new position is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and motivated team. We’re looking for someone with a blend of business skills and technical expertise, especially in audio and video production, to help us manage our busy centres and support our entrepreneurs. This is a particularly exciting time for the business, as we celebrate our 25th anniversary in modernised surroundings. There’s never been a better time to join us.”
Cedric Boston, Chief Executive of Unity Homes and Enterprise, added: “Unity Enterprise’s mission has always been to support local entrepreneurs, improve life chances, and boost prosperity. The Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in this mission, helping individuals succeed in growing their businesses, creating new employment opportunities, and contributing to the development of the local economy.”
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and innovative team, helping to provide a vital service to local businesses in Chapeltown. The position will involve engaging with a wide range of clients and contributing to the running of UE’s enterprise hubs, which are at the heart of the community.
Applications for the role are now open, with the closing date for submissions set for Sunday, 26 January 2025. Full details about the position, as well as instructions on how to apply, are available on the Unity Homes and Enterprise website. Those interested in learning more about the role are also encouraged to contact Adrian Green directly for an informal discussion on 0113 242 5996.
As Unity Enterprise celebrates its milestone 25th year in business, the organisation looks ahead to further growth and success, continuing to support the next generation of local entrepreneurs.
