Service Express, a global provider of data centre and infrastructure solutions, has announced the acquisition of Top Gun Technology, a maintenance provider based in the Greater Minneapolis Area. This acquisition is expected to enhance Service Express’ already strong portfolio of maintenance services, particularly in enterprise infrastructure, and further solidify the company’s position as a leader in the data centre sector.
Ron Alvesteffer, President and CEO of Service Express, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, noting that Top Gun’s expertise in mainframe environments and mission-critical products would add significant value to their existing offerings. “Top Gun has an excellent reputation and a wealth of knowledge with mainframe environments and other mission-critical products,” Alvesteffer said. “We look forward to welcoming their team to Service Express and working together to continue delivering outstanding service to our customers.”
Top Gun Technology, known for its expertise in multivendor maintenance, managed infrastructure services, and IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), serves a wide array of enterprise-level clients, including Fortune 1000 companies. By joining forces with Service Express, Top Gun will integrate its specialised services into Service Express’ expansive maintenance offerings, focusing particularly on enhancing the company’s mainframe and complex enterprise storage support services.
Joel Owens, CEO of Top Gun Technology, shared his excitement about the merger, emphasising the importance of the team behind the company’s success. “At the heart of Top Gun’s success is our people – an exceptional group of experts who drive everything we do,” Owens said. “Joining forces with Service Express isn’t just about growth – it’s about empowering our team and ensuring they have the resources, support, and culture needed to thrive.”
The acquisition promises to deliver numerous benefits to both Service Express and Top Gun’s customers. Through this integration, Top Gun’s customer base will gain access to Service Express’ global hardware distribution network, as well as the company’s innovative solutions such as Express Connect® for equipment monitoring and automation, and OnDeck® Predictive Sparing®, which ensures the correct parts are stocked before failures occur.
Service Express’ extensive experience in delivering quick first-trip repairs and its comprehensive service offerings will further enhance Top Gun’s service capabilities, providing customers with a wider range of solutions and a more robust infrastructure support system.
Warburg Pincus, Greenberg Traurig, and Plante Moran served as advisors to Service Express during this acquisition. The combined strengths of both companies will create a more resilient, customer-focused organisation, poised to meet the growing demands of the evolving data centre landscape.
