Smartphone maker vivo has launched the ‘VLOVE Portrait Gallery’ in Bangkok to celebrate the release of its latest device, the vivo V50. The exhibition, running until 2 March at Central World Square C, explores the theme of love through mobile photography, showcasing the capabilities of the new smartphone.
Inspired by the Italian word “Ancora,” which is also a V50 colour variant, the gallery’s theme, Meet with Love, highlights human connections through photography. Seven photographers have contributed more than 60 images captured using the V50, depicting relationships between friends, partners, families, children, and pets.
Zhu Yi, vivo’s Global Brand Strategy Senior Director, described the exhibition as a reflection of the company’s core values. “Embracing empathy and user-oriented innovation, this portrait exhibition embodies vivo’s belief in the Joy of Humanity,” he said. “We encourage everyone to rediscover the love in their lives and capture those touching moments.”
The collection features work from international and local photographers, including ZEISS photographers Gabriel Santos and Urasha Jakkachaphol, artist Jimmy Marble, and emerging talents William Seng, Tienjen Huang, Aung Kyaw Tun, and Aw Ya Tha Soe. Their images, taken using the vivo V50’s advanced imaging technology, offer a curated exploration of human connection.
Los Angeles-based photographer Jimmy Marble, known for his bold use of colour and surreal compositions, has contributed a special series examining self-love and identity. “Self-expression has always been how I show myself love,” he explained. “With this photo series, I wanted to create images that reflect everything I truly love about photography – bold, graphic colours, wild fashion, and expressive faces in unusual situations.”
The exhibition also highlights vivo’s collaboration with German optics company ZEISS. Marisa Weis, Head of Category Management Imaging & Brand Partnerships at ZEISS, said the partnership was instrumental in advancing mobile photography. “The VLOVE Portrait Gallery is a testament to the power of collaboration and creative expression,” she said. “It’s about more than just technology; it’s about enabling authentic human connection.”
The vivo V50 is designed to push the boundaries of mobile photography, featuring a 50 MP ZEISS All Main Camera and ZEISS Multifocal Portrait capabilities, with focal lengths of 23 mm, 35 mm, and 50 mm. It also includes seven ZEISS Style Bokeh effects, AI Aura Light Portrait 2.0 for studio-quality lighting, and AI 3D Studio Lighting 2.0 for enhanced selfies.
With its philosophy of “Beyond What You See, Unveiling What the World Could Be,” vivo aims to enhance mobile photography by offering professional-grade tools within a smartphone. The company hopes the VLOVE Portrait Gallery will inspire visitors to explore the artistic potential of smartphone cameras and redefine visual storytelling.
The exhibition is open to the public at Central World Square C in Bangkok until 2 March.
